What have we been doing?

At centers we played a game where we had to sound out CVC words.

We played a number bingo game on the smart board.

We got to play with play dough!

We had to match fish with penguins and write down the number words.

Members from the Kiwanis club came and read to us and gave us books to take home!

We played Tobogganing Penguins, we had to fill out the ten frame with whatever number the penguin said.

We played a game with dominoes. Mrs. Glick said a number and we had to try and beat our partner to find a domino that added up to that number!

During math centers we played a counting fish game.

We wrote in our journals.

We worked on our -an words this week.

We had to match our pictures to our words from our word bags.

Good matches!

We learned about penguins. 

We had to see if we would be taller or shorter than an Emperor penguin.

Some of us were the same height!

One of our new favorite songs is the counting down from 20 song.

This is a great website that our school has purchased a license for.

It practices many of the skills we are working on in school right now.

Passwords are sent home today!

*Busy Bees*

One of our standards in kindergarten is to count to 100 by tens!

This week we read "The Mitten" by Jan Brett.

We acted out the story and put the animals in order, by how they crawled in the mitten.

After we acted out the story, we made our own books that we used to retell the story to our families.

We went to the computer lab this week!

We went on starfall.com. So much fun!

You could even build a snowman!

We used our dictionaries to write some sentences in our journals this week.

Cute!

One of our favorites at free time is the Marble Works!

We also like the Lincoln Logs.

The big puzzles.

The little puzzles!

And of course the kitchen!

At centers this week we worked on CVC words.

We had to find the marshmallows with the CVC word that matched the mug and picture.

We also had to find the matching ten frames and snowmen.

We played a new game on the smart board. 

We had to listen to the letter sound and then find that letter.

We worked on a little reader.

We met up with our fourth grade buddies this week!

We had to read them a story!

It was a good thing we practiced!

Before Holiday break we.......

Decorated some trees by recognizing numbers.

Measured trees using different types of shapes.

Made a story about Rudolph!

Counted how many presents Santa had in his bag.

Worked on ten frames on the smart board.

Worked on positional words in our Frosty book.

Wrote in our journals.

We read The Polar Express! We had to have a ticket, 

otherwise we'd get left at the North Pole!

When we were done, we got mail delivered to our room from the North Pole!!!

Santa sent us bells............and they were still cold!!

After we read the story we got to have some hot cocoa!

Before we left for break we had a little party. We drank Grinch floats!

And made cute Christmas tree hats!
