What have we been up to?
We've been busy writing!

Can you tell we're excited for Halloween?

We made a class pattern book!

Using M&M's! Yum!

Of course we got to eat them too!

We got to use highlighters this week, they were a hit!

We built ten frames with pumpkins!

We also painted pumpkins!

We played Jump on it! So much fun!

We really liked playing "Bump" this week!

We had to roll the dice, and put our marker on that number.
But....if our partner rolled that number too, they could bump us off!

We wrote some rhyming words in our journals.

On a rainy day we had recess inside, so we did puzzles!

So much fun to be in kindergarten!

**Our Short Week!**

Thank you Winhawk football players for visiting our classroom!

This week we worked on writing our letters. It takes a lot of concentration!

Wiggle, wiggle, loose teeth in kindergarten!

It makes me smile when they play "Mrs. Glick" at free exploration time.
I think that means I'm doing something right? :)

Lots of big towers this week!

And even small towers!

**Fire Station Visit**
On Friday we went to the fire station!
We were fascinated by the fire pole!

Fire fighter Bartelson showed us around the station and explained what a fire fighter does!

The tires on a fire truck are ALMOST the same size as a kindergartner!

We all got to take a turn sitting in the fire truck!

We even got to try on their headphones!

He showed us what fire fighters look like when they have all of their gear on.

Then he gave us a high five, to show we shouldn't be afraid even though he looked different and even sounded different.

But our favorite was when they came down the pole!

We went outside and got to look at the big fire truck!

They put the ladder all the way up!!

He was SO high up!

We had so much fun and learned so much!

Thank you fire fighters!
....Kindergarten Happenings....
This week we learned about fire safety!
We wrote about it in our journals!
Look at this great handwriting and drawing!

Here's another great one!

We also got to play with play-do at centers this week!

It was a hit!

We worked on a counting book about fire safety.

And finished up a book about colored apples.
A blue apple? Yuck!

We also played Zoo Phonics bingo!

I sent home copies on Friday, so you can play at home too!

This week we had a guest at our school.
Sue Hulsether came and taught us some folk dancing!

We loved the down the road song and dance!

We had to practice so that we could dance with our families on Friday night
at the Family Fun night!

Here they come down the road!

We learned so many fun new songs!

But, I think Popcorn was our favorite!

On Thursday, we got to read with our fourth grade buddies!

They are really good readers!

Kindergarten is SO MUCH FUN!
